HE FOUR ESSENTIALS OF HEALTH AND OF LIFE!! (Try living without one of them)
Health is something that we are given at birth and it should be maintained throughout our lifetime. Unfortunately, we are never taught what we need for health and what specifically needs to be maintained.
We are all born with a genetic health potential. If we understand what can interfere with that potential we can avoid such interferences and keep it at its highest level. When we buy a brand new car, we get a manual to maintain it. This tells us how to make the car last the longest possible time and run at its optimum potential with minimal problems. Yet when children are born, there is no manual in the “glove compartment” to know “when to change the oil”, rotate the tyres and get a tune up. In other words, we are not taught what to maintain and how to maintain it. To understand our highest optimal health potential we first have to know what the essentials of health are.
To understand the essentials of health we need to understand the essentials for life. The basic physiological essentials for survival are as follows:
FOOD — WATER — OXYGEN — NERVE SUPPLY
FOOD:Food is the fuel and building block for growth and reproduction of cells and tissues. It consists of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. If any of these were to stop you would die. If their balance is interfered with your health potential would not be at its optimum.

WATER: (Fluids) – seventy five percent of your body is water. It is used for almost every body reaction. If you stop fluid intake you will die. If you drink unhealthy fluids (caffeine, alcohol, additives, preservatives) or not enough fluids your body’s health potential is decreased.
Always knew to drink a lot of water, but who knew the timing affected things.
Drinking water at the correct timemaximizes its effectiveness on the Human body:
2 glasses of water after waking up helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal – helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath – helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed – avoids stroke or heart attack
Bottled water contains disinfection byproducts, fertilizer residue, and pain medication
From The Environmental Working Group, an amazing report on the discovery of numerous chemical contaminants in bottled water. One particular brand of bottled water caused a 78% increase in the growth of breast cancer cells. Every major brand was found to be contaminated with cancer-causing chemicals. They discovered that most bottled water is no different than tap water.
CHLORINE – WMD IN YOUR WATER!
Chlorine has been realized as a potential weapon of war for almost a century. And for most of that time water chlorination has been the accepted rule in the western world. There is no question that chlorination of water has definitely reduced death from infectious diseases. However, it is just as important to state that chlorine is exceedingly toxic. The fact is that thechlorination of water produces trihalomethanes, known carcinogens, which are most probably as toxic to the immune system as chlorine appears to be to arteries.

Until recently most medical theory was based on the assumption that the 20% of our body that is solid tissue is what determined our health, since that is where most outward signs of disease and illness are found. Fluroide is currently legislated into most US tap water even though the science just does not exist in order to support this. Should this be a cause of concern for health? Absolutely!
OXYGEN: Oxygen is also used in almost every reaction of the body and is carried by the pulmonary (lungs) and circulatory (blood) systems. Interference to these systems could stop oxygen and result in death. We should exercise and breathe deeply to increase our oxygenation to cells. Researchers say that oxygen deprivation can cause almost anything from fatigue to cancer. If oxygenation is not at its optimum neither is your health potential.
NERVE IMPULSE:Nerve impulse is the most commonly overlooked essential for life and health. Nerve impulse is an electrochemical charge transmitted by the brain through the nervous system to the body. It is the life force that keeps us alive and “charged”. All body function is dependent on this life force or brain impulse. Cells must be electrically charged in order to vibrate and function.
If your brain stopped (generating these electrical impulses) you would die. In fact in order to be legally dead, the brain impulse must stop. If you severed the nerve to your heart would it stop? How about your stomach, lungs or hand? What if you just interfered with normal nerve transmission? Would these organs and tissues function at their optimum potential?
One of the major causes of nerve interference is misalignment of the spine commonly termed by Chiropractors as subluxation. Subluxations can interfere with the nerve, the spinal chord and reflex nerve pathways resulting in abnormal function and a lowered health potential. If your spine is subluxated you cannot be at your optimal health potential regardless of how good your food, water and oxygen are, because you are still interfering with one of the essentials of life and health.
The chiropractor’s primary role is to locate and correct subluxations, thus removing nerve interference and allowing the body to restore its normal function. It is not a treatment for symptoms or a cure for disease, but merely a way of improving the body’s optimal health potential, through proper nerve integrity. This is why everyone should see a chiropractor from the time they are born, and regularly throughout their lifetime.
Your Posture is the Window to your Spine and Health.
Your spine is the most important factor affecting your posture. In order to have the best possible posture (and health), your spine has to be in the best possible condition. From the rear your spine should be perfectly straight ( figure 1). From the side you should see three curves, each having a 60º arc (figure 2). Science, anatomy, and physics all observe that a 60º arc offers the strongest defence against the destructive forces of gravity and movement.
Although your symptoms are an important part of the picture, if they are present at all, they are not a reliable way of measuring your health or if your subluxations have been reduced. Remember that your symptoms are usually the tip of the iceberg.
